The thorelii x(spect x northiana) is a great plant to have for breeding. While this hybrid seems to show more thorelii characteristics, this will create strong characteristics when recombined with other hybrids. One of my goals is to breed this plant with spectabilis x veitchii or even another spectabilis x northiana. In the second generation hybrids, the spectabilis should be strong with cultural conditions required for thorelii.
Many breeding has been emphasized on intermediate-high crosses. I hope more Asian growers lend their attempts to make more lowland hybrids with colors of the highlands.
