after i change the medium to Moss, and put it under 20% shade.

Hi all,
I am a new comer too. To share my 2 cents here.
I bought a pot of picther from Cameron about 4-6 months ago. Initially lots of the cups dried and die. But plant stays healthy.
6 months later, it started to produce many baby cups....

What I did is to hang it at the edge of my net (50% shade cloth). It got a few hours of direct morning sunlight every day. I water them heavily.

Hi Adisonz,

Don't feel so sad as most of the highland Nepenthes will not grow well in the lowland. I am also having difficulties in cultivating the N.sanguinea, N.ramispina and N.macfarlanei. Have tried so many time and still the result is not very encouraging.

Maybe now you should concentrate more on the lowlander. It is a learning process and what we gain from our past experience hopefully can benefit the future. Although we have tried our best, the result might not be on our side.

Cheer up man.

There are 2 explaination for this.

1. The plant is trying to cope with the changes of being moved (from CH to Setapak).

2. Maybe you spilled the fluid inside the pitchers so they dry up.

When I'm back in my hometown (Sungai Petani), I'd buy them neps and take em back to Langkawi (where I stay and work). Most of the time I spilled the fluid inside the pitchers and they always dry up, top half first.

If that's the case, I always use this trick- Fill the pitcher with water (1/4 full is OK). Sometime it works, sometime it doesn't.

Anyway, they will grow new pitchers for you given enough time.
