Apart from caterpillars and slugs, I have to content with a few hyperactive squirrels. They have occassionally knock down some plants. But this morning they created a disaster. Apart from knocking over a few small plants including the plantlets from David, they aslo caused three plants from MT to fall from the tabletop to the floor - 30". My ventricosa, eustachya and sibuyanenes. The ventricosa just broke a leaf. Eustachya broke the growing point. But the sibuyanemes just broke into 2 - the stem from the roots.
David can you suggest a way to save the sibuyaneses?
According to a nursery owner in Sg Buloh, squirrels do occassionally bite off pitchers from her plants.

Sorry to hear the bad news. My suggestion, treat the broken stem as a cutting and reroot it. TS

Root them both in spphagnum moss again. Move them to a place with no direct sun. Bright light will do. Cover the plant with a clear plastic bag or container to maintain a high humidity. Soak the media well.
If you have plant hormone, those that people use to help root cuttings. But this is in liquid form. Mix a few drops in water and drench the potting media with it.
After this, it is up to mother nature and plant. Do not remove the plastic bag/container until you see a few new leaves and pitchers from the plant.
Keep us updated on the progress.
