Hi Dom
Yes, it's available here in Thailand in a few nurseries, also know as Bat-Lilly. Another nursery owner/friend of mine has had a lot of the dark form (Dark purple/black) and I used about 50 in a landscape job last year. I used to think they were very rare, then I came across them in areas of Thailand where they are growing wild in masses. There is also a white form, but I find the black one more impressive. Once they get big enough they tend to flower quite regularly. I've never tried to grow them from seed but will be by that job site again this next week and will see if I find any seed ready.

Dom, there are 2 Borneon variety - chanteri and nivea and can be found in dense lowland forest. The local nursery sometimes sell them but always taken up soon as they appear.

Robert, please help me to get if you saw any. I will pay you back. Boon Leng, Thank you for the info. I know where to get the above species from wild. But...it is not so nice to collect from wild all the time. But hope the one selling in nursery is from farm.

Hi again Dom, I grabbed a few seed pods this morning, most were underdeveloped so I didn't pick them, yet. I'll dry these a few days and if you want to try the seeds just PM me and we will work it out. I'm pretty sure my friend still has large plants here in his nursery, but they'd be a hassle to ship. I'll look through the ones on the job site and see if there are any small plantlets I could remove. Shawn PS I wouldn't feel too bad about removing a few plants from oil palm plantation lands as they tend to mow/cut/burn or spray the understory with herbicides anyway! But it is a good policy to approach it the way you have!

Hi shawn, Thank you for the offer. The one i saw is not in plantation area. But a park which is for people to enjoy their walking, jogging and side seeing. So far yet to see any in the plantation. If yes, definitely I will remove it and keep it in my house.

Hi Dom, Okay, I did a little hunting around my nursery and a job site where I planted them last year. I found one smallish plant (about 25 cm) growing under the parent plant but that was the only small one. I've asked the foreman at another nursery to scout through their big plants and see if they can find me any small ones that I could pack up and send. In the meantime, here's what I found for you first; I've separated out the seeds on a paper towel and they will need to dry a couple days before I pack them up. PM me with your address. Shawn

Yes phissionkorps, that's the fruit. I didn't try to taste it! Never heard of it in any Thai dishes, but I'll ask around!
