Does anyone know where to buy staghorn ferns, and how to grow them?

There are few online stores in Florida. Also you can try ebay. They do best mounted to wooden plank or to a teak basket. Give it bright filtered light. Platycerium are tropical plants. You have to note in your temperature fluctuation to grow them outdoor.
Hope this helps. AT

Thanks atmccmn, but do you know how much the temperature change needs to be?

As far as I know of Platycerium are tropical plants. You are OK if you are living from the range of zone 10 to 8. The plant can be placed outdoor all seasons. Watch out for sudden drop of temperature below 15 degree Celcius. I think that's the lowest the plant can take. These are based upon my personal assumption.
Sorry! I live in true tropical enviroment where we experience constant temperature during day and night. Sudden frost will kill the plant. Mebbe you can check with your local garden club for further details. AT
