Wondering if anyone has any Vanilla planifolia vine for sale. Got the local one growing my my parent's house already. So much talk about how pleasant the smell is.

what`s the diff between the local variety & the one you want plse ? it`s an orchid rite ? a fren of mine wanted to start a vanilla farm last time but it did not materialise.

From what I know, the local variety is not that fragrant and doesn't produce good pods. I don't know. I am in it for the flowers no commercial interest. If you google vanilla you'll hit several species. Think only Planifolia produces good pods. The flower is bigger too. Most of this I am assuming, so please don't quote me.

The local one I bought from shah alam orchid show in 2005 has now over grown the sumatra pine it is vreeping on. No flowers yet.
