Robert, love your pictures. The whole area has a fresh attraction for me with all the water. Wish I could visit the see for myself. That rafflesiana tricolour is jaw dropping! Love it.
What plant is that on the 7th picture on the left? It does not really look like gracilis. Hybrid with amp?
Does the flood water stay at that level or only when it rains?
All the plants are growing under some trees is it? Looks like the trees are quite tall but leaves are very spars. So it's dappled sunlight? Slightly different from the usual open sites. Interesting.

Robert, you made me as if I'm there in the forest. The last picture is like a couple of gracilis trying to cross the river ;D

Thanks everyone for viewing.
David it was likely trichocarpa but i was too focus on taking photos, in a hurry with the water all around. It floods only about this time during the wet monsoon season. Trees are sparse and about 6m tall .
Naj, the rainy season provide another photography opportunity. with the flood all plant look so fresh and lively.
Thanks for the comments Isaac.

David it was likely trichocarpa but i was too focus on taking photos, in a hurry with the water all around. It floods only about this time during the wet monsoon season. Trees are sparse and about 6m tall. If that is trichocarpa, it has a really nice maroon colour. I have one but it is green speckle just like the parent green amp. It does look like trichocarpa to me too. Thanks for the explaination.

Most welcome Jonathan.
David, this is one area where a very high percentage of hybridisation going on. Some look like mirabilis and gracilis in structure but close observation would reveal the differences that i often have doubts ;D
