Dear members, being a plant freak, what do you least expect to find in Disneyland? On a recent business conference outing to the sunshine state (florida) in the US, I had some free time to kill so I went to the disneyland in Orlando. Boy O Boy, I was so impressed with the Bromeliad growing in their garden. This is inside Disney's Epcot theme park! People probably thought I am weird while others are taking picture of Mickey/Miney/donald, I am shooting the bromeliad and plants, gardens. Just to set the expectation right, this is the sunshine state, they have weather so good that they can grow almost any type of plants from cold or warm tropical climate. Feels just like home especially the humidity. Anyway, here's some pictures for you brom lovers out there. Look at this tree! I want a tree like this in my house. Broms, staghorns, orchids growing so naturally. (Although orchid choice I may not agree with, look at the top of the tree, there's a blue flower, mostlikely hybrid) A closer look of my dream tree Assorted Neos. Another type of neo. Another neo type. Another neo. Assorted neos. in the disney resort where we stayed. Tilandsias (airplant) were growing everywhere on trees. And this tree is growing wild with 'spanish moss' that it made it look so old and fairytale like. Hope you like these pictures as much as I do! cheers. Rgds, Isaac

Thanks for sharing, Issac. Orlando is no doubt a paradise for plants and a good place for tourism. But I like Miami better

Yup, really my dream tree. Probably can only be realized when I get my own landed property. Right now, I'll have to make do with my "garden in the sky" for now. Rgds, Isaac

A couple of trees draped with air plants around the property will definitely look nice. Some how this kinda scene reminds me of a haunted house portrayed in movies.

Thanks for the pictures Isaac. It's so cool that the tillandsias just cover the whole tree. Gives me an idea for my apartment... but I'll need to spend alot to buy. Reminds me of Andy's garden too.
How nice if I have a garden and a tree to plant those plants on it.

Hi Isaac, Your first 2 pictures really show how amazing epiphytes can really be in playing part in our landscapes. Loved those Neos tho. Sadly, it's neglected there! Presume there are uesnoides and recurvata everywhere. I think they are considered as weeds in some states there! David, Perhaps you can have some artificial vertical stuff near your window sill. Can be both decorative and functional too.......just a thought!
