Dear all... David... some ant plant for you... Firstly i would like to introduce you to an ant plant which is related to Hoya and in most of the cultivator treat them as an hanging basket plant... Dischidia imbricata.... The clump.... Close up... Flower close up.. Here is an ant fern which the rhizome will turn black with age... Lecanopteris luzonensis.... High up on the branches... Which part of the ant plant stores ants? The fat little red things? Are those roots or fruits or stems?

Hello PL,
The "red" thingy is actually the leaves and the roots are cover under the leaves... the ant;s colony is actually under the leaves too... this is for Dischidia imbricata...
as for the Lecanopteris sp they live under the rhizome which is the green and black part of the fern...
