Wondering what type of water you guys to watering your flower, CPs and others? Treated pipe water? Water from fish tank? Water from the filter like Diamond or Nesh? Water from the sink after you washed the vege and fruits?
Heard that some CPs like dosera sensitive to high nutrient water. Some Nepenthes are prefer alkaline water. Some are prefer acidic.
If using direct pipe water, any anti-chlorine dose or what kind of treatment you are doing to create a better quality of water?

i use the same water for all my plants. once you figure out the water in your housing area is suitable for CPs ( meaning your Cps can survive ), then it`s pretty much safe to use it as the quality of the water won`t change unless the water source changes ( ie different dam is providing water for your area now, which rarely happens )

Hi guys, Back to civilisation From what I know the best water are rain water (because it's clean and of course free) and also reverse osmosis water. Our tap water contains chlorine and some plants especially orchids don't really like it. What you can do is but a litmus paper to check whether tap water in your area is acidic or alkaline. Usually during rainy season I collect rain water. But since the roofing material are cement slate, I did not collect the first 2 showers. Theoretically (my own theory ), after the first 2 showers, the roof will be clean from dirt, dust and cement/roofing residue. )

Tap water PH in Malaysia is alkaline all the time. 7.5-8. But is the rain water safe to use? Since the air-polution is quite serious. Especially in big city like Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, New York, Jakarta and etc.
Tried once to water my dosera with my aquarium water. It died after 2 days. Too high nutrient i guess.

i used to use rainwater last time but it was too much of a hassle. Then i tried my tap water & it worked fine. Rainwater in big cities is very toxic. Some of my more sensitive sundews like the d.capensis always get brown spots if it get hit by raindrops....now, they are protected from rain.
If you must collect rain, perhaps collect after 10 mins of the rain starting. hopefull by then, the rain would be cleaner as the earlier raindrops would have cleared up the pollution in the air.
Note : my lycopodiums actually lose their growing tips whenever raindrops hit them.

Too much nitrat from the fish poo in the aquarium water but it would be good for normal plants. The rain in malaysia very fierce.Delicate plants will suffer if hit direct rain.
