There is a rafflesiana influence in it... xcoccinea perhaps?

Hi Shawn, i think it might be a raff x mirabilis and x coccinea is another possibility.

Thanks Guys, the coccinea influence seemed pretty strong to me too and was going to be my guess but I didn't want to influence people with my input. My other ID'ed coccinea all are much more of a pure red with only the space between the wings showing any green markings at all. The peristomes seem to be the same shape as well. What is it that makes you guys think there might be raff in it as well?

from the second picture, the shape/rise of the neck suggests raff to me. hehe actually if you think it's a coccinea, you are also seeing some raff influence, because coccinea = (N. rafflesiana x ampullaria) x N. mirabilis. why i suggested N. raff x mirabilis also is because i'm not too sure if i see any ampullaria in the pitcher.

Thanks Hongrui! Yep, as a relative newbii, I was not aware of the coccinea = (N. rafflesiana x ampullaria) x N. mirabilis connection! That helps. I agree about the amp part as I can't see any in there either. This plant was from a little roadside nursery that I have been trying to influence into carrying Neps (along with all the other nurseries on the island). I've been giving them all my N. mirabilis and batches of N. mira seeds to get them into it and it seems to be working! Most Thai nurseries (except in Bangkok) call Neps 'Mor Kow Mor Gang Ling' (monkey cooking pot) and don't differentiate between the species except by the location where they were gathered so it's rare to get correctly (or even incorrectly!) labeled plants. ;D

if it is a natural hybrid, raff x mirabilis is more likely then. hehe
