Wow, thanks marygoldsfail! I grew up next to a town in Illinois that called itself the lilac capitol of the world (Lombard) and have memories of walking through a 3-4 meter tall maze of every kind of lilac bush they could find! When the blooming season arrived you had to park 1/2 a mile away due to all the cars of people wanting to take the walk. The smell was like Heaven. I doubt that anyone over here in S.E. Asia (except perhaps in the highlands) knows what we mean when we talk about that scent as even with all the synthesized perfume smells they have created, none even come close to the real thing!
I'd forgotten about the seeds. I've been growing all the things that everyone says "can't possibly be grown here" for most of my life... When the seeds form this year I'd love to try some if you are willing to post them!
As a side note; A friend brought me Wisteria seeds from his villa in Italy the last 3 years. Each of the first 2 times I got 0 germination. Last season I refrigerated the seeds for a month and "bingo" - 100%! Now it's just a 6 year wait to see if I can get them to flower here! Shawn ;D

Wow that's amazing Shawn. Lilacs are pretty common where I live too, but I have never heard of people lining up to see the blooms! Lilacs are just so wonderful, and on the nicest days the smell of them travels over half a mile or so. Growing them from seed, I haven't had any success, they seem to do better from layering and offsets. You'd probably be best off seeing if there are any lilac rootstocks on ebay if you want some.
As for the Wisteria, I've never heard of them. I did a google search and they seem really pretty, are they a relative of lilacs?

Alienfx- no, it does not fruit (since it has seed pods) and no one makes perfume out of it, it's just a decorative plant. plantlover- it's the smell of the flowers that usually make people drool.

Nothing. It's just... pointless. Sorry, shouldn't bother posting my opinions about tv here.
