Use the flowering fertilizer. The flower size depends on type of rose. There are many types of roses. Some are big and few and some smaller size but produce many roses. What kind of rose you bought?

Wow, plantlover, you are already a senior member?
I think you can induce flowering by covering the plant with a plastic bag and putting a cut fruit in with it.

It's not my method. It's just something I read that is supposed to help induce flowering. The ripening fruit is supposed to release a compound that causes the plant to produce flower buds. I'm not sure how well it works, but it's something you can try.

About marigoldsfail21 method,
I heard that banana will give out a kind of gas that ripens fruit and shortens cut flowers life span.

It is called ethylene gas. Every rotting green matter produces it. Banana, leaves etc. Aaron, first you fatten the fellow. Then you goto sundry store to get some carbide en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbide_lamp or nursery to get some of those pellets which induces pinaapple to fruit. Then follow marigold's method. Ask your father about carbide... don't think many young people knows what it is. Natural method... fatten then wait for cold weather.

In order to ripen a fruit what i know people keep it with banana because banana release a higher concentration of ethylene gas compared to most fruits but this is first time im hearing ethylene gas can cause flowering also.

I don't know if ethylene gas can induce flowering. Just going along with marigold's idea of using ripening fruit. So I surmise must be the gas. Pineapple uses concentrated form of ethylene in liquid form then spray on the waiting plants early in the morning. Rubber use ethylene to induce the tree to yield more latex, thought slight more water. With flowers... love to find out. Roses... troublesome plants full of thorns.

Ask your father about carbide... don't think many young people knows what it is. My father is even more nwbie than me in gardening. And he's a plant murderer. Killed his periwinkles and petunias. serve him right for fertilizing my neps. Natural method... fatten then wait for cold weather. But my house every night also cold.

Hmmm... So it's called ethylene?
If you can't get any carbide or pellets, a banana would work well. Especially since it ripens so fast.

Most decomposing matter produces ethylene. Banana skin produces nice aroma too.
