Spider mites are big time to most orchid growers. As prevention, water the plant consistently about twice a day. Make sure you wet the bottom/under side of the leaves. Keep the medium and plant moist. They hate damp environment. Dry weather helps them thrive. Orchid growers can advise you. Since you're in Ipoh, as the Perak Orchid Society or Ipoh Orchid Society members for advise on Spider Mites. Spraying fungicide will not work with mites. Also, quarantine your infected plants so healthy plants won't get those pesky mites too. Can spray with poison. Contact poisons are good but cannot get to those nooks and crannies those little fellows hide. So I usually use systemic poison and they are dangerous. Usually Kelas 2 and above (i.e. Kelas 2, 3 & 4). Organic alternative, think there are some postings here about organic stuff, cocktails etc. Here's a link petpitcher.proboards61.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=70&page=1Just keep plant wet. If you're thinking poison, make sure it is use with supervision. WARNING: USE POISON WITH GREAT CARE!!! And only as last resort. Minor under 18 years of age should only use poison with adult supervision. Sale of Poison to minors is an offence!
