Hi, I bought an ant plant two weeks ago, unfortunatley my research about them didn't give much info about how to care for them.
May I ask you guys for some basic tips on how to take care of them. I haven't been able to really identify the ant plant that I got, but it is probably:
Hydnophytum formicarum or at least a Hydnophytum species.
Please help me with tips on water, light and soil.
Do they like being wet? Do they like full sun or shade? What type of potting mix? Any other special requirements?
If there are not plants in it, would plants start residing in the future?

This thread: petpitcher.proboards61.com/index.cgi?board=antplants&action=display&thread=1469&page=1has some tips on H. formicarium somewhere in it. That is where I figured out how to grow mine. I give it brightish light (fluorescent), its in sphag and perlite, and is due for a repot soon. Pretty quick grower once it settles in. Do you mean ants in it? Well they won't reside in your plant unless you are able to get some from a H. formicarium in the wild and introduce them to your plant. I don't think they will just find their way there unless you live within the range of the plant.
