Hi everyone, Does anyone know what food is suitable for ampullaria? I mean, i read in an article that amps had evolved to digest fallen dried leaves accordingly to its habitat (wide open trap mouth with reflexed lid). Another article is on wikipedia here. So if i wanted to feed my amps, is it an insect or dried leaf would it be? Any experience?

So far I've just fed my amps with insects. And it has the same results as other species, ie. new leaves are bigger. Maybe you can do an experiment if you have two amps. Feed one with dried leaves and plant debris and another with insects. Would be interesting to see if there is any difference. Whether they grow more robust with insects or dried leaves and plant debris.

Planning to the the experiment. Altho i have two amps, both of them are not of the same size. One is a mature amp while the other is an unmature amp bought from MT. I think will have to wait for our another MT order to do the experiment. hehe
