Well thanks to a guy on cpuk, he sent me free unknown id nep seeds. Lots of them. Must have been like 100+ or something. From Hawaii, arrived today. He says they are N. Splendiana x Maxima -OR- N. Splendiana x Rokko -OR- N. Splendiana x (spectabilis x veitchii) -OR- a mixture of different seeds which is quite probable. Well I put it in a seed tray with a plastic cover for humidity. Pic : The left 2 rows are chopped dried sphagnum, the middle row is washed cocopeat/perlite, the 2 right rows are peatmoss/perlite. He says germination rate has only been 5% in the past, but with this many seeds that's still ok haha.

Neat and nice, that's how I like my arrangements to be too.
It will be interesting to find out which media will have a higher rate of seed germination.

Well i'm spraying each pot with water every morning. Humidity is high in that platsic tray. There are like 20-30 seeds in each pot. If 5% is the germination rate I have the possibility of getting 15 plants haha.

They started germinating yesterday! ;D 3 germinating so far. All on cocopeat. I guess cocopeat:perlite really is the better medium for germination.

Another germination! This time on the peat moss~ Though one of the ones germinating on the cocopeat didn't seem to form properly so I'm considering it dead unless it recovers. So I'm still gonna say 3 germinations so far.

One more today! On the chopped sphagnum moss. Seems like germination happens faster on cocopeat, but doesn't seem to effect the final number of germinations. Well that's what I can tell so far.
