this is how i want my common VFT to look like, with nice red colour traps. After sunning it for the past 3 weeks, the lovely colouration is finally showing. the metal rack i bought now allows me to have almost 8 hours of continuous sunlite.

Beautiful plant, Tarence. It looked very healthy. Love the red colour inside the trap, hopefully it get redder in time.

No Tarence, mine doesn't showed that red colouration inside the trap. I have one once had very red in the trap, but now no more. Must somehow "train" it to gain that red again. But now the red form from Sg Buluh has showed maroon colour in the traps.

I like the red form coz of the intensity of its colour. But i also like this typical form coz of the colour play between green & red in the traps.....

Me too, basically I like every form of them, coz every single one itself has got its own charateristic. But what I like the most is the Wacky trap, soooooo cool. (I know some people find it urgly) Hope I would have the chance to own one....

After 1 week being moved to a new spot, the big short green and the tall droopy VFT that I got from Tarence is showing the lightest shade of pink, the red is red like usual and the small one that I got from Fauzi is growing more and more upright...
I dont want to sound weird, like a freak and all but think they're tell me telepathically that they like their new spot...
There... I did it again.
p/s: cactus... Me googled liao for wacky vft but nothing came out... Got pix or not?

Lisham : the tall droopy vft will never have red traps like this one. But the other compact vft from me will, if you give it enuff sunlite.

i`ve seen it`s photo finally...it seems to be a higher form of mutant VFT yah ? i wonder if the traps can shut properly to trap flies ? hmmmm.......

It won't shut any more. Seems this plant has difficulties in growing up. Guess it must be supplemented with fertilisers to grow well. Same as fused tooth VFT, the mutated tooth make it difficult to shut, it shuts but shut together with all the fused teeth inside the trap. Eat with teeth together?

errr, sorry to be saying this, but kinda pity the creation of this vft variant coz it cannot survive as a natural functioning VFT except as an object of fascination for us.....poor thing! i didn`t know the fused tooth also got the same problem.....back to basic forms for me. heheh.

off topic a lil bit... where to get those upright green vft that grows like weed?

Tarence, they actually survived, but is just that they are not as vigorously grown as typical form. VFTs still grow without any prey, the nutrition they got from the prey is merely supplement to plant's growth. The spring or autumn trap for fused tooth VFT can still catch prey like normal VFT because the trap doesn't fuse too much during this time.
