Had this n.ventricosa for about 4 months already. It seems to be doing ok, doesn`t have the redness it should have or the hour glass figure. I don`t expect it to in our lowland weather. This is my new n.veitchii. Can`t wait for the showy bigger pitchers to come out.

Mine ventricosa pitcher also getting smaller and smaller, greener and greener, and worse, out-of-the hour glass shape... Had a long trip to Bako yesterday. Today ad-hoc holiday

Tarence, nice ventricosa you have. I used to have ventricosa too, but it died off due to hot weather.

I am keeping one pot of ventricosa black peristome for almost one year from MT. So far, all the pitchers are small without showing black peristome.
At least the plant is growing a side shoot now. I'm hoping the new shoot will grow bigger pitchers.

My ventricosa gave me picthers about 3-4 inches but lately because of the unpredictable weather, the pitchers are only about 1 inch high.

Hi Robert, Didn't notice your friends cos we were using a different trail. Besides Nepenthes albo, raff & ampul, you will able to see nice hirsuta, semi-highland tentaculata and macfarlanei (correct spelling or not?) at the hill tops of Bako. I really like that macfarlanei's yellow-white or pale green pitchers... There are many antplants like Dischidia major, Myrmecodia sp & Hydnophytum sp too.

i hang my n.ventricosa pot from a tree branch. it gets natural shade from the ferns specially grown around it. my first one also died & dried up but this 2nd one seems to be doing much better.
hey wilson & robert : you folks s/be more active than us where neps are concerned...

the ventricosa has maintained it`s size and colour esp during this rainy cool season.....plus a fusca hybrid which is also doing well...

That is a huge ventricosa pitcher Tarence. It's very healthy. I think I've not seen ventricosa pitchers grown to this size in lowland conditions. Cool!
