showing off one of the raff.elongata grown from seeds january,2006. Its growth is getting more vigorous recently as new and longer leaves are produced with new pitchers. There are some from the same batch but much smaller than this one. They seem to have different growth rate although given the same medium and care.

Here's my two bob worth of raff elongata, with compliments of David. It is also grown from seeds early this year. The pot size is 2 in diameter.

Robert, yours is really vigorous growing so big so fast. You're right, mine also like that, with different growth speed eventhough they are from the same batch. Perhaps it's the genetic make up of each individual plant?

yes it's interesting to follow their growth habit. I have the same batch with many half the size of this pot

I also have one from David growing quite nicely in my indoor tank but color seems to be light green. Will try to take picture together with my plants indoor.

Others remain small.

This is my young nep from David.

I assume it's N. mirabilis x thorelli. Nice pitchers with red markings on the top part.



This is N. Northiana seedlings. Initially I put the pot submersed with water soaking. Then saw leaves dying, I've lifted the pot without soaking wet now and changed the media to half perlite half sphagnum. It's growing much better now and new tiny pitchers forming!



Here's my tiny indoor tank, it's about 1.5feet wide.

Thanks Robert. It's not the best setup, but it's serves its purpose lah.

Ok, here's my experience so far

Artificial Light and high humidity tank
Drosera, Pings Seeds germination Not successful at all
Nep seeds, so far I have very good germination results in this tank. I will soon have too many dark red spot ampullaria seedlings(seed from TS) to give away in a few months time.

Natural light is better for drosera from my experience but nep seeds germination is slower than my indoor tank. I suspect that drosera seeds don't do well under high humidity conditions.

Droseras don't like the humidity to be too high. For growing anyway. Germination seems to require high humidity. But for a plant too high humidity would rot the plant.
